Innovation. Sustainability. Opportunity. At NEOM, these words define and inspire us. Today, they also define our partnership with the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team. We joined forces to be the front runner in the race to a brighter and cleaner future, prioritizing sustainable mobility and sport while fostering young talent in Saudi Arabia.

Our common vision is clear: renewable energy is at the core of a sustainable future, and we know that electric mobility solutions will power a better tomorrow. That’s why we’re proud that NEOM appears on the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team racing cars and suits in the upcoming 2021 Diriyah E-Prix, the first all-electric night race to be held on 26th and 27th February in the historic desert surroundings of the UNESCO World Heritage site.

To further support one of the fastest-growing sports on the planet, later this year we will also be the principal and founding partner to the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Driver Development Program for junior drivers which looks to discover and bring on young talent who could make the step up to Formula E.

Electric racing is not only a show but also a laboratory: through the NEOM GrOW Program, a group of Saudi nationals who work closely with the racing team and qualify as engineers or software developers will have a unique opportunity to advance their careers at the crossroads of sustainability and technological innovation.

Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team Driver Stoffel Vandoorne recently visited NEOM, marking the first time an all-electric vehicle completed a run along the spectacular Magna Road, one of the most beautiful places in the world. The view of the zero emission Mercedes-EQ Silver Arrow 02 running through the fascinating landscapes of NEOM was the living proof that the race for a new future is already on.
